History
The company Comlux Aviation was created in 2003 in Zurich to start VIP charter operations with the top of the line business jets from Bombardier.
In 2005, the company decided to move forward by boosting VIP charter operation with wide body jets: an Airbus ACJ was purchased offering ultra spacious cabin interior with unmatched comfort.
As a market leader and an innovator, Comlux involved itself in the Airbus A318 Elite program and becomes first launching customer with effective service in May 2007.
Early 2008, Comlux The Aviation Group is created, providing a wide range of complementary services related to Business and Private Aviation worldwide:
- VIP charter services and aircraft management
- Sales and acquisitions consulting services
- Cabin design and outfitting management services
During EBACE 2008, Comlux increased its fleet by ordering 2 new Bombardier Global XRS and developed its cabin completion expertise through its partnership with the Airbus Corporate Jet Centre (ACJC).
Autumn 2008, Comlux is extending its operations by obtaining 2 new Air Operator Certificates (AOC): one in Malta with EASA approval (EU-OPS) and one in Kazakhstan.
During NBAA 2008, Comlux announced the creation of Comlux America LLC and the acquisition of the Comlux Completion USA (formerly Indianapolis Jet Center or IndyJet), specialized in business aircraft completion and maintenance services.
At MEBA 2008, Comlux announced the order of an A320 Airbus Prestige, to be operated for VIP charter in the Middle-East region from 2010.
At beginning 2009, with the arrival of its second A318 Elite, plus one Challenger 605 and one Global Express, Comlux increases its VIP Charter fleet by 30%.
In May 2009 at EBACE, Comlux reveals the interior of its A320 Prestige designed by Comlux Creatives and that will be completed in 2010 by Comlux Completion USA. The company, based in Indianapolis USA, annouced as well its agreement with Bombardier to join its Authorized Service Facility network (Line Maintenance Facility/ AOG center).
In January 2010, Comlux set up Comlux Middle East company in Bahrain and better serve the buiness aviation Market in the region.
In April 2010 Comlux announces the Grand Opening of its Completion and Maintenance center in Indianapolis , USA. With the participation of the State of Indiana, the major aircraft manufacturers (Airbus, Boeing, Bombardie) , Comlux key clients and business partners and several journalists, the event is a great success.
April 2010:Comlux America becomes an approved outfitting center for Boeing Business Jets
May 2010: Comlux launches the Polished Slats on Airbus Family
December 2010: Comlux announces the purchase of 2 Bombardier Global 7000
May 2011: Comlux announces the purchase of 3 Embraer Legacy 650
Comlux America is approved Airbus Completion Center
September 2011: Creation of a new entity: Comlux Aruba with a new AOC. An exclusive 767BBJ, certified for 60 pax and dedicated to Heads of State and Royal Families joins Comlux fleet.
October 2011: Comlux becomes the launching customer of the Sukhoi Business Jet at NBAA 2011.
November 2011: Comlux becomes the launching customer of the Airbus ACJ321 at Dubai Air show 2011 confirming its positionning as the largest Airbus VIP operator worldwide.
